No, seriously

My brother, B.G., is currently finishing a semester of student teaching in an elementary school.

Today, I picked him up from school on my way home from work -- I fly back to DC tomorrow -- and he starts telling me about this girl in his class.

This girl, apparently, was held back when she started at B.G.'s school earlier this school year. My brother and his primary teacher immediately realized it was a bad idea. The girl, while remaining educationally on par with the other students, displayed bursts of social maturation comparable with girls much older than her. She swears, among other things.

Today, my brother noticed her poking and pulling at her shirt on her shoulder.

B.G.: "What's wrong with your shoulder."
Girl: "It's my training bra. My mother says I am starting to develop."
B.G. [blank stare] "Yea, you're going to have to talk to [The Head Female Teacher] when she gets back."

The girl did, and the teacher told her to go to the bathroom and take it off. And she also told the girl to tell her mother "No" on the whole training-bra thing.

Probably a good thing, seeing as the girl is in first grade.
